Get ready to train hard, swim with the dolphins and snorkel through fleets of tropical fish at beautiful Marde Jade Retreat Center, Mexico. Parents – Relax on the beach or get a rejuvenating massage while your children learn with a brother and sister team (Sifu Eileen and Nicholas) who have been teaching together for over 15 years and operate their own martial arts schools! Other activities include surfing, restorative treatments and holistic therapies. Snorkeling, whale-watching tours and walks in the jungle are also available!

A little about Mar De Jade - We are very excited to run this year's retreat at Mar De Jade. Besides being an awesome retreat center, Mar De Jade is a non-profit organization that uses the proceeds from its activities to provide medical services for local townspeople. We think that's groovy, and it fits in with the values of Body Balance, our school located in Grass Valley, California which for 2008 has helped raise over $4000 for non-profits.

Due to increased airfare rates, we have switched this years' yoga, kung fu, tai chi, and surfing retreat to mexico, where we went in 2006 and had a blast! This means lower overall costs for the retreat and more time to learn, have fun, and relax with only a couple of hour plane ride versus a 5 hour plane ride to the retreat in hawaii. Courses will count towards instructor training certification!

Well, everyone's back safe and sound from the Sculpt Your Own Retreat in Costa Rica we held in April and we're starting to hear back all sorts of good things.

This retreat allows you to learn tons of useful information without the commitment of a week long retreat and at a fraction of the cost! The Walker Creek Ranch Retreat features world reknown guest instructor Henry Look and local instructors Eileen Wheeler and Marion Gilbert. Eileen will be teaching Tien Shan Pai Kung Fu, Self Defense, and Yang style Tai Chi Chuan while Grandmaster Look brings his unparalleled experience in Guang Ping Yang Tai Chi, Hsing Yi and Ba Gua. Marion will be teaching the Somatic experience as it relates to the Ennegram, a personality classification technique. Classes are for everyone and you are guaranteed to learn techniques that will change your life for the better. Come relax and learn Tai Chi in the beautiful hills of the wine country. Visit and engage in activities in the Ranch Garden, which is now producing delicious organic vegetables year round. You are welcome to take a walk through the garden as well, and hopefully sample some the fresh produce in the Dining Hall. The trails, low elements challenge course, and water front facility are also available to you, so go ahead and relax, you deserve it!
